Look of the Day: Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst at Pavillon Cambon for the Chanel show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011.
Ms. Dunst looked positively ladylike in a pleated navy Chanel dress paired with black satin pointy toe Chanel pumps.

'White' This Way!

After battling my third bout of the dreaded flu this season, I am just about done with the winter weather and definitely finished with the snow. Looking out my window and seeing miles of white is just not doing it for me anymore but I guess I should get used to it. The buzz in fashion is that white is a huge colour this spring. A glance at what has floated down the runways of a few of my favourites, Victoria Beckham, Calvin Klein and Alexis Mabille is definitely whispering in our ears, white is the new black!

Look of the Day: Michelle Williams

There is just something about Michelle Williams that always makes me take a second look. Whether she is in casual garb strolling the streets of Brooklyn with her adorable daughter or walking the red carpet, her look always seems fresh and polished!

Ms. Williams looked divine in a frosty white Balenciaga evening gown with delicate embellishing at the scalloped asymmetrical hem and neckline. She finished her look with dainty Fred Leighton jewellery and lovely champagne hued Salvatore Ferragamo pumps.

Look of the Day: Demi Moore

I have always been a big fan of Demi Moore's style. Yes, the years has been good to her, she looks fabulous for any age let alone 48 but Ms. Moore is one celebrity that seems to have grown into her polished sense of style. She works the line between ageless and age appropriate in a way that seems to elude most of her contemporaries.

Ms. Moore sported a dove grey sheath dress in a muted watercolor print at the Save the Children and Artists for Peace and Justice Benefit hosted by Bulgari. She finished her look with tres trendy pointy toe nude Casadei wedges and a champagne hued satin Bulgari Monete envelope clutch.

HOME :: Around the Charming Home: Light My Fire!

Winter was never my favourite season. I am definitely a lady that needs fresh air, sunshine and warm breezes to get me going. But living in Canada means quite a few months of snow and frigid temperatures that one must deal with.
I can't think of a better way to deal with the -20 degrees Celsius which is presently blowing outside my front door (that's -4 Fahrenheit for our American friends!) than with a blazing fireplace to warm the home!

What's your favourite way to keep yourself warm on a cold winter's night?

STYLE ICON Carolyn Bessette Kennedy

I was asked once what I considered the definition of a 'style icon'. My answer was simple-an individual whose style stands the test of time regardless of decade and trends. Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy was definitely one of those individuals.

Carolyn Jeanne Bessette-Kennedy
(January 7, 1966-July 16, 1999)

Much like the mother-in-law she had never met, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy was a true style icon. Looking fab in an evening dress or sweats and sneakers seemed to come naturally to the flaxen haired beauty. Her style simply put, was pared down chic done just right.

THE ICONS OF STYLE: Audrey Hepburn

Kicking off the new year with a super stylish start is the only road we travel here at Lily Lemontree and we have the honour of spending a few moments with one of our favourite guest bloggers, Robert I. Brown. You might remember Mr. Brown from his fabulous style icon guest post last year on Andre '3000' (click here just in case you missed it!) and if his name looks familiar, it's because this young gentleman, his writings and his blog have become synonymous with style, culture and refinement throughout the blogoshpere.
Thank you very much Robert for sharing your thoughts on the iconic style of Audrey Hepburn!

"The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she knows." – Audrey Hepburn

A lady understands the true characterization of elegance, class, and the art of being, well, charming. Being polite and displaying a flawless set of manners isn’t far-fetched…it’s a rather simple and normal task for any female with grace. Just like any female would appreciate a gentleman, it is indeed reciprocal: the gentleman surely appreciates a lady with a distinctive aura about herself.

In comes the untouchable distinction of the beautiful Audrey Hepburn.

When I first witnessed the raw beauty of Audrey Hepburn, I was blown away. The LIFE images presented a woman who didn’t need to say a word to show how graceful she was.  Audrey Hepburn’s look was simple, sophisticated, and modern. Without knowing much about her, I immediately assumed she was a polite lady ahead of her time – she was. I have seen her once on-screen (I don’t remember the film) and she looked dashing.

Even though I know little about the gorgeous and talented Hepburn, I was at least familiar with one her most successful films: “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Holly Golightly was something special. This Belgium-born beauty will always be remembered for her upper echelon of class and generosity. There’s a saying that describes how beauty is only skin deep, and Audrey Hepburn provided much more than just her good-looking smile. This is why she was a lady ahead of her time.
