How To Get The Attention Of Your Waiter

Catch the attention of your server by making eye contact or if he/she is not in your immediate area, you can raise your hand to about head level and wait to make eye contact so that they are aware that you need service. Waiters do not have eyes all over their heads so if they are looking elsewhere and not taking an order at another table, you can also softly call out 'Waiter' or Sir/Miss?'
If they are taking an order at another table, do not interrupt them or the other customer while they are placing their order. Your request is no more important than any other customer in a restaurant. Snapping your fingers or waving your hand furiously is just disrespectful, a waiter is not your personal servant (and if you are lucky enough to have one of those, you shouldn't do that to them either)
