STYLE ICON :: Audrey Hepburn

Kicking off the new year with a super stylish start is the only road we travel here at Lily Lemontree and we have the honour of spending a few moments with one of our favourite guest bloggers, Robert I. Brown. You might remember Mr. Brown from his fabulous style icon guest post last year on Andre '3000' (click here just in case you missed it!) and if his name looks familiar, it's because this young gentleman, his writings and his blog have become synonymous with style, culture and refinement throughout the blogoshpere.
Thank you very much Robert for sharing your thoughts on the iconic style of Audrey Hepburn!

"The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she knows." – Audrey Hepburn

A lady understands the true characterization of elegance, class, and the art of being, well, charming. Being polite and displaying a flawless set of manners isn’t far-fetched…it’s a rather simple and normal task for any female with grace. Just like any female would appreciate a gentleman, it is indeed reciprocal: the gentleman surely appreciates a lady with a distinctive aura about herself.

In comes the untouchable distinction of the beautiful Audrey Hepburn.

When I first witnessed the raw beauty of Audrey Hepburn, I was blown away. The LIFE images presented a woman who didn’t need to say a word to show how graceful she was.  Audrey Hepburn’s look was simple, sophisticated, and modern. Without knowing much about her, I immediately assumed she was a polite lady ahead of her time – she was. I have seen her once on-screen (I don’t remember the film) and she looked dashing.

Even though I know little about the gorgeous and talented Hepburn, I was at least familiar with one her most successful films: “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Holly Golightly was something special. This Belgium-born beauty will always be remembered for her upper echelon of class and generosity. There’s a saying that describes how beauty is only skin deep, and Audrey Hepburn provided much more than just her good-looking smile. This is why she was a lady ahead of her time.

There are few 'stars' you can compare her with today. Maybe Reese Witherspoon? I think it's sad how the norm is show it all and act like an idiot.

She's so stunning. The Ooh La Frou Frou logo, Tiffany, wears a little tiara ala Audrey and on the blog, she talks about Audrey being her style icon. Next week, Tiffany will be one of the four Ooh La Frou Frou girls talking about her resolutions (this week the first four have talked about theirs) and she shares where she finds some of her Audrey-style clothes ... tune in next Monday if you feel the need for an Audrey fix! Kisses, sweetie!

I read a biography on her years and years ago. She was as gorgeous on the inside as she was on the outside. She did so many wonderful things. She was a humanitarian, philanthropist and passionate about her role (Embassador?) with Unicef. Great Choice! XOXO (Now go erase all your Icky Spice pictures! LOL)
