The Last Minute Holiday Scramble

I hate to have to admit it but I forgot someone. Started Christmas shopping early this year and I thought I had finished early but dropping the ball as I have, I must trek out today and pick up one last little item. Not too much to worry about I thought originally as my favorite go-to gift is stationery and there is a adorable stationery shop not to far from here. As my luck would have it though, the adorable lady who owns the adorable stationery shop thought it would be a good idea to close at noon today!

THE BIG PICTURE: 'The King's Speech'

It's not a big secret that I have an immense crush on Mr. Colin Firth, the fab British actor and star of movies like 'Bridget Jones Dairy', 'Love Actually' and 'Mamma Mia'. Obviously I am not the only one who thinks he is of award winning calibre since he has been recently nominated for numerous 'Best Actor' awards for his role in a magnificent film 'The King's Speech', a movie that is definitely on my agenda for the festive season.

Mr. Firth portrays King George VI and the film tells the true story of the Duke of York (the reigning Queen Elizabeth's father) being thrust into the regal position he was not prepared for after the death of his father and the abdication of his brother. Taking the royal rein's of a country on the brink of war and looking for a charismatic monarch to lead them through the impending crisis and hardships, King George is forced to deal with a devastating speech impediment that has plagued him for his entire life and threatens his subject's confidence in their new king.
A wonderful film regardless of whether you consider yourself a monarchy buff or not. And since most of us have been bitten by the royalty bug since the engagement of King George's grandson, Prince William, it seems like perfect timing as the movie is in theaters now.  It's definitely a must see film!

I have been told that I have a very sensitive nose (I have actually cleaned up the original comment, no need for that kind of language here) and even Lily's delicate nez can't get enough of the delicious scents that CLEAN offers.

Blogger issues have caused a momentary lapse to our daily peek at Lily Lemontree's wish list. As I waited and waited for Blogger to come back to its senses, I visited with one of my blog favs, Une Femme Curieuse who had a super post about gifts for any of the men in your life (this is your cue, go check it out!!). 

As I perused her featured suggestions, my eye was drawn to one in particular and it just so happened to be the sharpest thing to hum a tune since Mr. Elvis Presley!
