June's Blog Spotlight: My Mom, the Style Icon

Last month we had a giveaway for a book that stole my heart, My Mother's Clothes and ever since then, I have been thinking about my own stylish mom. I have been rummaging through some old pictures of her, before and slightly after she had children. I almost don't recognize this woman. I mean she looks like my mom but there is a whole other side of her that I had never really thought about. Mumsy really had it going on, a fashionable knock-out in every sense of the word, which got me thinking about a super blog I came across recently, My Mom, the Style Icon.

The brainchild of Piper Weiss, super-blogger and upcoming author, (she has a book coming out in 2011) her posts feature images and stories about stylish moms from all decades, submitted by their proud offspring of course! I am crazy about this blog (as I am sure you will be too!!) and I am never disappointed when I see the blog title show up in bold in my Google reader, signaling a new post!
Click on the link above or here to be taken directly to My Mom, the Style Icon and I promise you won't be disappointed. Who knows maybe you will be inspired to start digging around your mom's photo album and make of a star of her in bloggerland!
Don't forget to tell Piper who sent you!!

My Mom wore this amazing one shoulder dress and bicep hugging bracelet to her prom. TOTALLY a style icon moment!

What a great site! I should submit the picture of my mother in her purple plastic raincoat with chartreuse bell bottoms... Ahhh, love the high fashion of the 70s!
