LOOK OF THE DAY :: Kirsten Dunst

With another week full of award shows and after parties, we almost overlooked these images of Kirsten Dunst looking tres chic wearing a lady-like, vintage Valentino shirred-front bib dress when she attended the Art of Elysium Gala in Los Angeles. We were initially taken with the neckline, a sexier version of the boatneck, highlighting a delicate collarbone and the adorable, slightly, elongated cap sleeve.

We were so busy discussing the neckline and sleeve that we completely missed the exposed back. We love the look of a backless frock done right (nothing should dip too far south of the waistline, no matter what anyone tells you, no one wants to see derriere cleavage!). The bare back provided this outfit with a little extra 'wow' factor. (The back is such a neglected part of the body, never gets the attention it deserves!)
Given Ms. Dunst's "off-centered" sense of style, we were actually very surprised that she chose such simple and understated accessories (like the fabulous, dangly earrings above) but she definitely got it right with these delicate, ankle-strap stilettos.
Are these shoes not to-die-for? Perfectly paired with this black satin clutch (more bonus points for the pale manicured nails).
With every young starlet exposing to the world more than we care to see, it is so refreshing to see Ms. Dunst in something so polished and courtly without sacrificing a youthful look.

What do you think of Kirsten Dunst's Look of the Day?

I so agree with your comment about more than we care to see. It is refreshing to see someone who cares about the style not the skin that she displays.

Bonjour Lily,
Kristin looks stunning - she hit it all right! You're right about not showing too much, being a lady is still very much in fashion!

I love her - even in "Bring It On" her youthful and joyful, yet classy, style shows through!

Wow. I admit I'm not normally a fan of Ms. Dunst, but she really does glow in this look.

This is a very tasteful look.
