Last month I had the honour of baptizing my friend Giorgena's son, William. It turned out to be a beautiful day, filled with close family and friends, good weather, great food, all the ingredients present for memories you hold close to your heart. I thought I would share the invitation and favor tags I did for the baptism. You really can't go wrong with your invitation when you have a picture of such a cutie taking center stage!
Giorgena had a great idea when it came to choosing a favor that was both meaningful and memorable. William's name in Greek is Vasilios and basil(vasiliko) is his namesake plant. The favors, little plants of basil, were placed in light green glass pots tied with a light blue ribbon and adorned with a favor tag featuring the same colors as the invitation. I planted mine right outside my living room window and everytime I look at it, it reminds me of that special day!
I thought I would post a picture of the stunning cake Giorgena had made for the baptism. The cake carried the color theme of the favors nicely onto the sweet table.
